Roland Expands VersaCAMM VS Line of Wide-Format Metallic Inkjet Printer/Cutters

Two New Models Add Stunning Metallic Effects to Signs, Banners, Vehicle Wraps, Posters, Labels, POP and Decorated Apparel

Roland DGA Corp. has introduced two VersaCAMM VS eight-color wide-format metallic inkjet printer/cutters: the 54-inch VS-540 and 42-inch VS-
420. The new VS models join Roland’s best-selling 64-inch VS-640, which was introduced earlier this year as the company’s largest and most
advanced VersaCAMM to date.

“With the VS series, we’ve combined the best elements of more than two decades of Roland innovation into a single digital printing platform that
combines versatility with affordability,” said Dana Curtis, product manager for Roland DGA Corp. “The new printer/cutters have advanced
features, including integrated contour cutting, automated maintenance, precision spot color management, intuitive menu functions and
unprecedented print quality. Each model offers users a choice of either production level print speeds or industry-first metallic silver and white inks.”

VersaCAMM VS printer/cutters come in a choice of three ink configurations: CMYKLcLm + White + Metallic Silver, CMYKLcLm, and double
CMYK. Featuring CMYKLcLm + White + DPI award-winning Metallic Silver ECO-SOL MAX ink, the VersaCAMM VS creates premium metallic
graphics on demand. The VS series produces a metallic color palette previously available only through screen printing, offset printing or hot
stamping. ECO-SOL MAX achieves outstanding outdoor durability on coated and uncoated media for a broad range of applications.

Equipped with Roland print/cut technology, the VersaCAMM VS prints images and then automatically contour cuts them on one device through
one seamless workflow. VersaWorks RIP software is shipped with the printer/cutter and features the Roland Metallic Color Library of 512 metallic
spot colors that can be reproduced easily. VersaWorks also includes the new Roland Metallic Texture System Library which has 26 metallic
patterns and textures that can be applied to designs for even richer effects.

VS users can choose from two new metallic print modes, blended or layered. Blended mode prints CMYKLcLm and Metallic Silver ink together for
more natural metallic colors. Layered mode prints Metallic Silver first, followed by CMYKLcLm in one pass, adding richness to metallic effects. A
two-stage heater expedites production, and Roland’s Advanced Ink Circulation System prevents the pigment in metallic and white inks from
settling.

VersaCAMM VS features the Roland OnSupport system for remote print management. When a job is completed or ink runs low, notifications are
sent to an e-mail address which can be accessed by a smart phone or computer.

VersaCAMM VS printers/cutters are available through authorized Roland dealers and priced at $26,495 for the original VS-640, $22,995 for the
new VS-540 and $18,995 for the new VS-420.

Roland Announces Larger, Faster UV-LED Inkjet Printer/Cutter

From Folding Carton Packaging Prototypes to Labels and POP Displays, 54” VersaUV LEC-540 Produces Custom Graphics in One Seamless
Workflow

Roland DGA Corp. today introduced the 54” VersaUV LEC-540 UV-LED wide-format inkjet printer/cutter. Based on award-winning VersaUV
technology, the LEC-540 prints CMYK + White + Clear and contour cuts virtually any substrate up to 1 mm (0.04”) thick for luxurious, custom
graphics with unique special effects and finishes.

“The LEC-540 is based on low-cost VersaUV technology that has revolutionized the packaging prototype and short run label industries,” said
Hiroshi Ono, product manager for Roland DGA Corp. “With the new LEC-540, professionals can print, contour cut, crease and perforate graphics
all on one device. The LEC-540 prints on an unprecedented range of materials including popular large-format media. New built-in front and back
tables facilitate the handling of rigid substrates for folding cartons and other packaging prototypes.”

The new LEC-540 is the third model in Roland’s VersaUV series. It is faster than previous VersaUV models and offers greater versatility for
applications ranging from packaging prototypes, short-run labels and membrane panels to interior décor items, point of purchase (POP) displays
and large-format window graphics.

The LEC-540 prints on a wide variety of flexible and rigid media, including synthetic paper, polyester film, paper and vinyl banner media, PET,
leather, plastic, polycarbonates and paper boards. In high quality mode, the LEC-540 prints 25 percent faster than the 30” LEC-330 due to new
larger UV-LED lamps that expedite production. LEC-540 lamps automatically reposition themselves for high-speed performance and the highest
image quality in all print modes. The LEC-540 also offers high-quality artistic print mode (1440 x 1440 dpi) for images that rival offset and gravure
print quality.

The LEC-540 is offered in three ink configurations: the standard CMYK + White + Clear configuration, CMYK + White + White for high-opacity
white printing on transparent films, and CMYK + Clear + Clear for thick dimensional effects such as embossing. Clear ink can be layered into both
gloss and matte finishes including 72 ready-to-apply patterns from the Roland Texture Library included in Roland’s VersaWorks RIP software.

Users of the LEC-540 can also take advantage of the Roland OnSupport system which allows remote monitoring of production activities. When a
job is completed or ink runs low, the printer will automatically send an e-mail notification to a smart phone or computer. Unattended operation
and easy maintenance are further ensured by an automated white ink circulation system that prevents pigments in the ink from settling, minimizes
waste and ensures continuous uninterrupted printing. The LEC-540 is Roland Eco Label and Energy Star certified.

The LEC-540 is priced at $67,995. The VersaUV series also includes the 30” LEC-330 and 30” LEC-300A. VersaUV was introduced in 2008 as
the world’s first UV-LED inkjet printer/cutter and has been recognized with prestigious DPI and EDP awards for outstanding innovation.

Roland Adds New Static Cling and Updated Banner Material to Award-Winning Inkjet Media Line

Roland DGA Corporation, a leading provider of wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters, today introduced
two innovative products to update the company’s media line. The new products are compatible with Roland’s
popular ECO-SOL MAX inks, including White and Metallic Silver.

White and Clear Static Cling Inkjet Media
Roland is expanding its media portfolio with eco-solvent compatible static cling material, an entirely new
product that offers an easy-to-use alternative to adhesive-backed window displays. Agents within the material
allow the product to adhere to the inside or outside of windows and other glass surfaces by suctioning to the
surface in a similar fashion to electrically charged “static cling” products. The non-adhesive nature of the
substrate allows for quick and easy do-it-yourself application and removal, perfect for promotional
advertisements or temporary point-of-purchase displays.

Static Cling is available in both white and clear and has the unique capability to cling on both the printed
and unprinted sides without mottling upon application. The white offers an excellent white point for bolder
colors and striking graphics, while the clear allows light penetration for optically clear displays. Both
products offer rich, saturated colors and printing and cutting with exceptional definition and precision.

ESM-LBV2 Light-Weight Banner Vinyl
Roland is also replacing its best-selling light-weight banner vinyl with a newer edition, ESM-LBV2. The
updated version offers the same high-quality characteristics at a price that is over 30 percent lower for the
end user. The new ESM-LBV2 is flame-retardant certified and delivers a wider color gamut, making it a
better product at a lower cost. In addition, ESM-LBV2 offers a brighter white point, a high 1000 x 1000
denier construction, and an ink savings of 10 percent compared to the former product.

The new certified Roland media products are available throughout North and South America (except Brazil)
through authorized Roland dealers or online at www.rolanddgastore.com. Both products are competitively
priced at $.40 per sq. ft. for the ESM-LBV2 Light-Weight Banner Vinyl and $.30 per sq. ft. for the White and
Clear Static Cling.

sublimation printers are Energy Star certified and carry Roland’s Eco-Label for environmental compliance.
Roland VersaWorks RIP software is included.

VersaWorks RIP Software
Built on the latest Adobe PostScript Engine, Roland VersaWorks RIP software supports Roland Intelligent
Pass Control technology. VersaWorks features include advanced cropping, tiling and nesting options,
embedded ICC profile support and the Roland Color System for precision spot color matching.

Variable Data Printing makes it easy to personalize athletic apparel and uniforms with individual names and
numbers. The VersaWorks estimation tool automatically estimates the ink usage and print time for each
graphic to accurately monitor time and costs. With VersaWorks, users can control up to four Roland inkjet
devices and cutters from one personal computer. The Roland@NET auto update feature ensures ongoing
access to the latest VersaWorks version and profiles available. VersaWorks supports Windows® 7, Vista®

Roland Launches Canadian Cartridge Recycling Program

Roland DGA Corp. has introduced a cartridge recycling program for the company’s inkjet customers
located in Canada.

The new program joins Roland’s U.S. cartridge recycling program and a host of other environmental initiatives
across the Americas and worldwide. Recycling of cartridges is now available in the U.S. and Canada for all
Roland wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters including eco-solvent, solvent, sublimation, UV and
aqueous models.

general manager for Roland DGA Corp. “Having three collection points in Canada makes it even more
convenient and cost effective to participate. We encourage all our customers to help protect the
environment by recycling their cartridges.”

Roland and CGS Publishing Technologies International Announce Strategic Technology Partnership

Roland and CGS Publishing Technologies International have entered into a strategic partnership to bring
leading edge technologies to the graphics industry.

Focused initially on the packaging market, the partnership has produced a new solution that seamlessly
integrates CGS’ patented ORIS Color Tuner // Web software with Roland’s DPI award-winning VersaUV
LED-UV inkjet printer/cutter. The solution allows businesses to generate highly accurate flexible packaging
contract halftone proofs on virtually any substrate at a fraction of the cost of current laser systems.

“For nearly three decades, Roland has brought innovative technologies to creative professionals,” said
Trevor Haworth, CEO of CGS Publishing Technologies. “Our new combined solution has already been widely
adopted in Japan, delivering new levels of productivity, cost efficiency and quality to businesses there.”

The 30” VersaUV LEC-330 prints on an unprecedented range of substrates and features Roland’s renowned
print/cut technology which enables precision printing and contour cutting of graphics all on one device
through one seamless workflow. In addition to CMYK and white inks, VersaUV prints clear coat which can
be layered to create gloss and matte finishes, unique textures and special effects. Roland ECO-UV inks offer
an expansive color gamut and remain flexible to support the production of packaging samples.

CGS ORIS Color Tuner // Web software includes a new driver supporting VersaUV’s entire color gamut. The
ORIS ScreenDot feature directly processes 1-Bit imagesetter-data, producing perfectly accurate color halftone
proofs. The original screening information allows users to detect screening-related problems such as moirés
and artifacts at a very early stage, avoiding costly remakes. The ORIS ScreenDot Plus feature allows users to
produce halftone proofs, even without final 1-Bit data.

“CGS has set the standard for color management across the graphics industry,” said Rick Scrimger, vice
president and general manager for Roland DGA. “We are certain that our efforts will lead to new solutions for
applications such as large format printing and display graphics. We are working with CGS on integrating the
ORIS solution with other Roland inkjets including the VersaCAMM VS-640 64” 8-color printer/cutter featuring
white and metallic silver inks. We look forward to the opportunities ahead."

Roland Introduces New VersaCUT Print Trimmers

Introductory Promotion: Save $400 on a 68” VersaCUT with Roland Inkjet Purchase

Roland DGA Corp. has introduced the VersaCUT line of print trimmers engineered specifically for production
graphics shops. Available in North and South America (except Brazil), the new line allows sign, screen and
print-for-pay shops to easily and accurately trim finished prints. Both manual and crank assisted models are
available.

Now through April 30th, the 68” VersaCUT manual trimmer is priced at just $399 – a $400 savings – with the
purchase of a Roland 54” or larger inkjet printer or printer/cutter.

“The VersaCUT trimmers are affordable and designed with features that significantly reduce errors and make
the trimming process easier for both flexible and rigid graphics,” said Andrew Oransky, director of product
management for Roland. “The VersaCUT CR models are the industry’s only products that bridge the gap
between hand units and fully mechanized trimmers or expensive wall cutters.”

VersaCUT Manual Trimmer
Available in 44,” 68” and 100” widths, the VersaCUT manual trimmer is designed to cut flexible or rigid
substrates. This model supports a wide range of media including vinyl, paper, Coroplast™ and foamboard
and can cut Sintra™ in multiple passes. It transitions easily between substrates without the need for any
adjustment or changes to setup.

VersaCUT is compact, lightweight and constructed almost entirely of aluminum and stainless steel for stable
operation and resistance to rust and corrosion. Unlike many rotary trimmers, VersaCUT allows users to see
exactly where the cut will be placed on the substrate. Blade changes are fast and easy with replacement
blades priced at just $0.15 each. An optional stand includes a roll hanger to support full rolls of printed
graphics.

VersaCUT CR Crank Assisted Model Offered in 48” and 72” sizes, VersaCUT CR crank assisted trimmers are
designed to cut Sintra, Gatorfoam™, Coroplast™ and other rigid substrates up to 1/2” thick without the
complexity of a motorized unit and at a fraction of the cost.

VersaCUT CR can be secured to a workbench and easily repositioned to meet the needs of each individual
job. By contrast, wall trimmers require users to trim at a fixed station and to position prints vertically for trimming.

VersaCUT CR requires just 35 psi of compressed air to operate. Its standard dual blade holder supports hard
substrates and an optional single blade holder is available for higher speed cutting of softer materials.

The VersaCUT line is available from authorized Roland dealers. Without the special promotional offer, prices
start at $699.

Roland Launches Cartridge Recycling Program

Roland DGA Corp. has introduced a cartridge recycling program for the company’s inkjet customers.

The new program is Roland’s most comprehensive U.S. environmental initiative to date and allows for recycling
of cartridges for all Roland wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters across the U.S. including eco-solvent,
solvent, sublimation, UV and aqueous models.

“We are excited to offer our inkjet customers the opportunity to decrease their shop’s environmental footprint
and reduce waste,” said Rick Scrimger, vice president and general manager for Roland DGA Corp. “The
facility we have selected is state of the art and recycles over 99 percent of waste to save landfills. We
encourage our customers to help protect our planet by participating in this easy, cost effective new program.”

To take part in the program, Roland inkjet customers simply need to ship used cartridges directly to Roland’s
headquarters in Irvine, California. Complete instructions including packaging guidelines and shipping labels
can be downloaded from the Roland Web site at www.rolanddga.com/recycle. A similar cartridge recycling
program for Roland Canadian customers will be announced later this year.

Roland U.S. Environmental Initiatives
The new cartridge recycling program joins a host of initiatives worldwide designed to decrease the
environmental impact of Roland’s operations. In the U.S., the Roland organization has an extensive
recycling program for paper, cardboard, pallets, plastics and other recyclables. The company has also
installed low-wattage lights throughout its facilities that feature sensors and automatic timers to conserve
energy. Roland operates building heating and cooling systems through an automated public utility-managed
system that regulates the amount of energy these systems use in accordance with government guidelines.
The company’s U.S. accounting and other departments are paperless. These and many other initiatives
reflect the company’s strong commitment to the environment and to sustainable operations.

Roland’s Global Environmental Standards
Globally, the Roland organization has been proactive for over a decade in establishing environmentally sound
business practices that have both reduced the environmental impact of its products and led to the adoption of
cleaner, more energy efficient manufacturing practices.

The company’s unique “Digital Yatai” manufacturing model is a revolutionary cell-based system that is entirely
paperless and driven in part by solar panels assembled by employees to save energy. At the design level,
Roland has procedures in place that introduce life cycle assessment (LCA) and promote the development of
environmentally-conscious products.

As a result of these and other policies, every Roland product today is designed and manufactured through
sustainable processes that meet ISO 14021 standards. Many of the company’s products are Energy Star
compliant. Additionally, Roland products introduced after September 1, 2007 feature the company’s
ECO-labels which meet ISO 14021 standards for Type II labeling by clearly communicating the environmental
attributes of every product to consumers.

The Roland Cartridge Recycling Program is available to all Roland inkjet customers in the U.S.

award-winning Metallic Silver ECO-SOL MAX ink.

At 64" wide, the VS-640 is Roland’s largest, fastest and most versatile VersaCAMM printer/cutter to date,

labels, decals, POP displays, heat transfers for apparel and more. The VS-640 combines a new generation
of print head technology with integrated print/cut capabilities, print speeds up to 248 sqft./hr. in dual CMYK
mode and advanced media handling for unmatched print quality and unattended production capabilities.
Metallic and white inks allow users to add impact to virtually any graphic. The VS-640 is priced affordably at
$26,495 and scheduled for availability in March 2010.

“We are proud to introduce this revolutionary printer/cutter at an affordable price point,” said Dana Curtis,
product manager for Roland. “The VS-640 brings the last 20 years of innovation and expertise to one
device, including integrated printing and contour cutting capabilities, next generation print head technology
and accelerated print speeds all in a 64” platform. It also produces white text, graphics and floods and
hundreds of brilliant metallic colors for premium graphics and wraps. It is the industry’s best value and a
powerful production tool for today’s shops.”

The VS-640 features Roland Intelligent Pass Control, Roland’s most advanced inkjet technology, and the
industry’s newest print head technology featuring precision variable droplet capabilities. The new print head
design automatically positions droplets of seven different sizes to optimize image quality at resolutions up to
1440 dpi. As a result, the VS-640 delivers exceptional quality prints that display smooth gradations and
flawless solid colors when viewed up close.

With the VS-640, users can choose from three ink set configurations: CMYKKYMC for high speed production
with no trace of chromatic banding; CMYKLcLmCM for enhanced blues and reds, flawless flesh tones and
improved image quality across lighter colors; or CMYKLcLm+Mt+W for the added versatility of Metallic Silver
and White ink.

ECO-SOL MAX ink offers a wide gamut, fast dry time and superior scratch resistance for dense, rich colors on a
wide range of coated and uncoated media including vinyl, PET film, canvas, paper, transparent film and banner.
ECO-SOL MAX delivers outdoor durability of three years for CMYK and Metallic Silver inks and one year for
White ink. Roland’s patent-pending Advanced Ink Circulation System prevents the pigment in Metallic Silver
and White ECO-SOL MAX inks from settling in the ink lines, dramatically reducing ink waste. This fully
automated system requires no manual intervention.

As an integrated printer/cutter, the VS-640 prints and then automatically contour cuts images without any
steps in between for unattended operation. The print/cut feature also enables the VS-640 to print and cut
without registration or crop marks, expanding the usable print area. The advanced media handling system
further ensures accurate media feeding and supports rolls up to 88 lbs. An optional take-up system is available.

New “Roland OnSupport” Mobile Production Assistance
The VS-640 features “Roland OnSupport,” a new online customer support system allowing users to remotely
track the status of VS-640 activities. The system sends e-mail alerts to a remote PC or mobile phone notifying
users of important information such as when a job is completed and when ink is running low. With Roland
OnSupport, users can also quickly download update files by accessing an exclusive website with just one
mouse click.

Roland VersaWorks® RIP Software
The VS-640 includes VersaWorks 4.0, the latest version of Roland’s RIP software developed exclusively for
the company’s inkjet printers and printer/cutters. This true Adobe PostScript 3 RIP ensures exceptional
production output with unmatched ease of use and incorporates the latest Adobe CPSI 3019 engine.

VersaWorks supports the Roland Color system which accurately reproduces spot colors from color charts
and swatch books. The Roland Metallic Color library in VersaWorks features metallic colors that print using
CMYK+Mt in a single pass. This palette offers users 512 metallic spot colors including gold, silver, bronze
and a wide range of pearlescent colors that are easy to incorporate into graphics. Users can create their own
custom metallic colors as well.

With VersaWorks, users can choose from print options including a high-speed mode for production banner
printing, the MAX Impact preset for vivid outdoor graphics and Artistic mode for exceptional indoor graphics.
In addition, VersaWorks features Variable Data Printing, supports up to four Roland devices simultaneously
and automatically estimates the ink usage and print time for each graphic to accurately monitor time and
costs. VersaWorks features also include embedded ICC profile support, ink level adjustment tools, software
proofing capabilities, error diffusion for outstanding print quality and advanced cropping, tiling and nesting
options. The PerfCut function enables users to produce precision perforated cut lines. VersaWorks 4.0 is
fully compatible with Windows 7, Vista, XP and 2000. It is scheduled for availability in March 2010.

Roland Introduces ECO-SOL MAX Next Generation Eco-Solvent Ink

IRVINE, CA, August 25, 2005 Roland DGA Corporation, a leading provider of wide-format inkjet printers and
integrated printer/cutters for the sign making, POP, exhibit, labels and vehicle graphics markets, today announced
new and improved ECO-SOL MAX ink. ECO-SOL MAX achieves new levels of performance and represents
a major step forward for ink technology.

In addition to the company’s award-winning line of inkjet printers and integrated printer/cutters, Roland has
pioneered the development of advanced inks that meet the highest standards for performance, safety and
durability, including the first pigment ink for wide-format inkjets. In 2003, Roland broke new ground with the
introduction of Eco-SOL INK, the industry’s first eco-solvent ink and a safe, cost-effective alternative to hard
solvent inks.

ECO-SOL MAX builds on this advanced ink technology with several enhancements including faster drying time,
higher density, wider color gamut, improved scratch resistance, and expanded uncoated media support. In
addition, ECO-SOL MAX is virtually odorless, contains no harmful VOCs, and requires no special ventilation or
nvironmental equipment. Best of all, the list price for MAX is 20% less than Eco-SOL INK, which it replaces.

"New ECO-SOL MAX ink is an exciting innovation for the wide-format printing industry and a significant upgrade
to Roland’s inkjet line," said Barry Johnston, color products division manager, Roland DGA. "ECO-SOL MAX
has been refined to deliver unparalleled performance on a broad range of media options. In addition to
reducing production costs, these enhancements expand the range of applications available to Roland inkjet
customers."

Faster Drying Time
Featuring an improved drying time, ECO-SOL MAX produces graphics that are dry to the touch after printing.
This advantage increases productivity and allows ECO-SOL MAX ink to perform with take-up roller systems for
long, unattended production runs, even in high-speed mode.

Ideal for Outdoor Banner Production and Other Complex Applications

For even greater durability, ECO-SOL MAX features improved scratch resistance, critical to the production
of outdoor banners and other graphics that involve complex finishing techniques. For outdoor banners,
ECO-SOL MAX maintains image quality throughout the printing and finishing processes including welding,
sewing, and the attachment of grommets. With higher ink density and wider color gamut, ECO-SOL MAX
graphics reflect superb color when viewed at a distance or close up.

ECO-SOL MAX Features
- Quick drying time: For improved production speed
- Improved scratch resistance: Adheres aggressively to a broad range of coated and uncoated media for
increased durability and easy handling
- Wider color gamut: Delivers vivid, precision printing across the color spectrum with expanded color gamut for
reds, blues and greens
- Virtually odorless: Ensures a highly comfortable working environment
- Lower production cost: Cartridges cost 20% less than Eco-SOL INK.
- Comprehensive media support - ICC profiles are available for Roland’s full line of value-priced media including
uncoated options
- High-density color: Produces glossy finish and vivid solid colors
- Durability: Graphics last up to three years outdoors without lamination

VersaCAMM® printers and integrated printer/cutters. Suggested list price is $59.95 per 220 ml cartridge.
