Scodix, the leader in digital enhancement solutions for the graphic arts industry, today announced that the installation of the first Scodix Foil system in Europe is already making an impact. On November 10th in Neuss (located just over 10 kilometers from Düsseldorf) the company conducted an open house for business partners and customers from all over Europe at OFT headquarters. The resulting standing-room-only event introduced over 150 European leading service providers and partners to the new capabilities now available via the Scodix Foil Station.
“The event targeted some of the most sophisticated, yet demanding clients in all of Europe, and introduced them to a whole new perspective,” notes OFT Founder Thomas Glasder. “We showed them, in person, how previous expectations of turn-around, quality standards, and capabilities concerning short-to-medium size foil production runs are now archaic. We’re proud to say we inaugurated a sea change moment for our many distinguished guests, and within our office walls.”
“The presentation was really tailored to how this traditionally analog and costly application, once so time consuming, has evolved into a digital effect that really meets and exceeds our turnaround and quality needs,” pointed out Daniel Burkhardt, CMO of German partner Mabeg Systems GmbH. “Scodix Foil opens up a new array of services to offer our clients, all the while with the added possible benefits of personalization. I’m excited about introducing it to our market.”
“Scodix digital enhancements typically elicit an almost child-like need to touch and feel the effects, as if they don’t believe what they’re seeing. Add to that the powerful allure and shine of foil, and the response becomes that of captivation. For OFT, a respected and recognized innovator in the EMEA marketplace, the blend of unparalleled creativity teamed with these new capabilities had their clients eager to test the limits. Regardless of how you define success, it was achieved at this open house,” added Stijn Simoens, Scodix VP EMEA.
The new inline module for the Scodix Ultra Pro was introduced in October at Graph Expo 15 (Chicago) and IGAS Japan (Tokyo). OFT and its sister company, Die Druckveredelung Köch und Glasder, are considered two of the world’s foremost experts in foil technology, offering both hot and cold foil capabilities, while serving some of the most prestigious brands in Europe. Earlier this year, OFT installed their first Scodix Ultra Pro digital enhancement press, and with the addition of the option of Scodix Foil, becomes the first company worldwide to offer professional foiling for run lengths of any count.
Using a unique patent foiling process, Scodix is able to digitally produce professional results that match and transcends quality standards of either traditional hot foil or cold foil processes. And, Scodix Foil efficiently uses readily-available foils to produce a range of colors such as gold, silver, bronze and more, with no waste or mess. Ideal for In-house shops, Scodix Foil makes it cost effective to implement the effects of foil (for run lengths of only 1 up to 10,000+) for just about any project, including packaging, brochures, business cards, invitations and book covers. Many believe Scodix Foil promises to make an immediate major market impact. This sentiment was independently reinforced by a team of industry experts who earlier this year named the innovation a Graph Expo Must See ‘Ems.
