Industry Advancements. Solutions to Take On 2026.

By Cassandra Balentine

Rounding out 2025, we highlight key introductions and advancements from the year. Following up on part one, several organizations from digital print, finishing, and workflow discuss new products and services.

Agfa
2025 has been a milestone year for Agfa marked by multiple achievements that underline the company’s continued leadership and innovation in the print industry. “One of the standout moments was Agfa’s strong presence at FESPA 2025 in Berlin, where the company showcased its latest high-performance inkjet printing solutions to a broad industry audience. The event was also a prime opportunity to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the renowned Anapurna Ciervo range with exciting product expansions,” notes Arnaud Calleja, VP, digital printing solutions, Agfa.

Among the most notable achievements was the launch of two printers, the Jeti Tauro H3300 XUHS and the Onset Panthera FB3216 LED, both of which earned prestigious recognition by winning multiple Pinnacle Product Awards and European Digital Press (EDP) Awards. In addition, Agfa reinforced its leadership in digital packaging printing with the successful sign-off of its field test program for the SpeedSet Orca at The Delta Group. This pilot rollout underscored Agfa’s commitment to enabling customers to reduce waste, accelerate production, and improve overall operational efficiency.

Further strengthening its footprint in the corrugated segment, Agfa secured the first installation of the BHS Jetliner MCP, integrating its inkjet technology into a high-performance digital corrugated printing system.

“Together, all these achievements reflect the company’s vision to deliver smarter, more versatile, and environmentally responsible printing solutions that support its customers to manage emerging challenges and make the most of the opportunities that are already appearing across the market,” says Calleja.

Customer’s Canvas
The biggest achievement in 2025 for Customer’s Canvas was transforming its platform into a more comprehensive solution for printers. “We added scalable rendering to handle high-volume personalized jobs, expanded support for decoration methods and finishing, introduced AI tools to simplify design tasks, and strengthened integrations with enterprise systems. These advances matter because they cut manual effort, improve reliability, and help providers bring new, higher-value products to market faster,” explains Dmitry Sevostyanov, CEO, Customer’s Canvas.

Canon
Canon’s most impactful achievement in 2025 was the successful launch of its comprehensive production inkjet service programs—Operator Pro+, Customer Technician Program, and the Self-Maintenance Program, which are designed to provide flexible solutions tailored to the unique needs of diverse operational environments, according to Rob Reddy, SVP, production technologies and solutions, Canon U.S.A.

Supported by the opening of a new service training facility, these programs give customer technicians the same training as Canon service staff. This helps to ultimately reduce downtime, maintain equipment more effectively and create defined career paths for operators, giving our customers control over their operations while creating clear growth tracks for their operators and addressing the labor retention challenge. “More than a technology milestone, it represents Canon’s dedication to building sustainable business models for our customers. By focusing on empowering people as much as delivering cutting-edge products, we are helping our partners strengthen their workforce and their competitiveness for the future. It was a year defined by partnership, innovation and customer empowerment. As we build off a successful 2025, we’re excited for what’s to come in 2026 and beyond,” comments Reddy.

EMT
EMT has seen growth across its business lines. Mike Herold, EVP, marketing and sales, EMT International, attributes this to more and more companies becoming aware of who we are, what we do, and why we do it. “We have more than eight decades of experience with solving challenges in the printing, converting, and packaging industries, and our customers and partners know they can trust us.”

Graphic Communications
One of the most significant achievements for Graphic Communications, a Division of CAI (formerly Print ePS), was delivering usability improvements across its MIS platforms, enabling customers to onboard new employees faster, improve day-to-day efficiency, and increase overall productivity. “At the same time, we made substantial progress on our AI commitments, introducing practical, real-world applications of AI to support consistency, enhance employee engagement, and strengthen customer interactions. Together, these advancements reinforce our mission: helping customers achieve measurable efficiency gains while simplifying operations in an increasingly complex market,” says Nick Benkovich, chief product officer, Graphic Communications.

HP
Haim Levit, SVP & division president, HP Industrial Print, says one of HP’s proudest milestone in 2025 was the launch of the HP Indigo 6K+, which brought the vision of nonstop digital printing to life and marked the installation of our 3,000th HP labels and packaging press worldwide. “This achievement underscored both the scale of customer trust and the impact of HP innovation.”

The Indigo 200K gained strong traction in flexible packaging, proving its ability to deliver faster turnaround, higher efficiency, and stronger profitability. Its adoption reflects both customer confidence and the scalability of our platform.

HP PageWide also reached new heights, with the introduction of the T4250 HDR and T500M HD—solutions that deliver both scale and sustainability. Customers have now printed more than one trillion pages on HP PageWide presses since 2009, a testament to the platform’s endurance and leadership.

“Taken together, these milestones demonstrate HP Industrial Print’s ability to drive innovation, deliver customer value at scale, and shape the sustainable future of print,” says Levit.

Hybrid Software
“In my opinion, we created a great evolutionary—or revolutionary—step with the PACKZ Max feature in PACKZ 11,” notes Mike Agness, EVP, Americas, Hybrid Software. “Because we are the only company that has developed both prepress editing and RIP technologies, we have been able combine both in one app that can run on an incredibly fast piece of hardware. That’s our biggest achievement in 2025.”

The other biggest achievement from PACKZ Max didn’t come from the RIP side of things, but on the Hybrid Software prepress graphics side of things. “We are able to put the RIP on the computer in front of prepress because we can use the workstation’s graphical processing units, not just the CPUs. We can use the GPU and the CPU,” states Agness.

He says it can utilize both, because, in the end, its got a fixed business with both graphics and RIP businesses. “So, you can use the graphic processing along with the computational processing of a computer for most of it. Exploiting the entire benefits of both the GPU and the CPU on the workstations that are in front of you is enormous. You’re able to get extraordinary GPU processing.”

Komori
Komori remains the market leader in the commercial offset print market, while launching a new product line for the inkjet segment.

Lance Martin, VP, product marketing, Komori, says the J-throne 29 is our newest press with higher speeds, wider market use, and lower operating costs. The J-throne 29 is a perfect complement for our premier offset press offerings. The two technologies will walk hand in hand into the future providing a full circle of solutions as our industry tackles shorter runs while being a higher value-added product.

Kyocera
2025 marked a massive milestone. Fred Morrone, senior marketing manager, Kyocera Document Solutions America, Inc., says for the fourth consecutive year, the company was were recognized as the number one market leader in U.S. production print by IDC Market Share Data. “This leadership position is decades in the making. Since we have launched the TASKalfa Pro 15000c, we’ve made inkjet not only more powerful but also more accessible. We’ve proven that affordable color and high-quality production don’t have to be mutually exclusive. Our technology has helped providers reduce costs, expand into new markets, and remain competitive despite industry headwinds like labor shortages and shifting buyer expectations.”

Morrone points out that this position validates its long-term strategy. “We didn’t just chase trends; we built a roadmap around what the industry truly needed. That’s why this achievement isn’t just about 2025; it’s about laying the groundwork for sustained leadership. For us, this milestone only motivates us to continue aiming high.”

Muller Martini
A key achievement is the introduction of our Antaro Digital Perfect binder, which is fully integrated with the Hunkeler Book Block solution for book of one or book of many at 2,000 books per hour. “The system can produce hardcover book blocks or finished softcover books. We’ve experienced similar success in our saddle stitching solutions with the introduction of the Prinova Digital that is fully integrated with the Hunkeler unwinder and sheeter for short run-variable saddle stitching brochures,” states Carlos Martins, solutions manager, Muller Martini.

Nobelus
“Our biggest achievement is launching two new thermal laminators in 2025, one to address the entry-level market and one for high-end encapsulation,” shares Angie Mohni, VP of marketing, Nobelus.

The Komfi Junior 52 is well suited for those new to lamination with a range of automated features, compatibility with B2 sheets, and burst separation.

The Orbis Dual 61 is a robust, two-sided laminating system that features a Heidelberg feed head, an oil-heated laminator, and a highly accurate trimmer.

This multi-module unit can process films as thick as 15 mil at speeds up to 30 meters per minute and performs encapsulation, flush trim, and negative cutting.

The Junior 52 addresses a need for lower cost equipment in a tight capex market, while the Orbis Dual 61 delivers speed and automation to combat labor shortages.

Printware
“2025 is a special year – not only because we began our 40th year of manufacturing but we recently moved into new space and doubled our employees from our successful launch of the HP based iJetColor inkjet envelope press in 2020,” comments Tim Murphy, president, Printware.

He says the company takes pride that it has a complete line of products, improved its customer service metrics, doubled the number of partners helping us sell and support its products, launched a new workflow and will launch what they believe is the most profitable inkjet digital press for offset volumes at PRINTING United this year—the iJetColorQ.

Quadient
For the Quadient Digital Print Group, William Longua, senior director, Quadient Digital Print Group, points out that the MACH 9DS color inkjet envelope printer has been our biggest achievement because we have created a solution that offers exceptional gains in productivity and efficiency.

By taking several separate processes and combining them into a single, manageable workflow that one operator can handle with ease and positioned affordably, the MACH 9DS, fully integrated with the Quadient DS-700iQ intelligent folder/inserter, is perfectly positioned for the smaller, various job runs that print providers are dealing with today.

Ricoh
In the past 12 to 18 months, Gavin Smith, chief global sales officer, Ricoh Graphic Communications, says the company has replaced its entire portfolio with cutting-edge connected, intelligent, and future-proof technology. “In 2024, we led the market with continuous forms inkjet combined with digital services, as more offset pages shifted to inkjet. We also led the mid and high product segments, as page volumes moved to high-production technologies integrated with digital services.”

Smith says Ricoh has clearly demonstrated how it delivers success through co-innovation and a client engagement approach—by simply being the best partner to our customers. “The data is clear, the market shows that what we are doing is working.”

Ultimate Technology
“Our biggest achievement is our customer’s achievements. This past year we have seen many of our customers implement really automated production lines and increasing their turnaround time, making massive leaps towards higher productivity,” shares Julie Watson, CEO, Ultimate.

Valloy
In 2025, Valloy launched the DUOBLADE FX, which marked a leap in automation and intelligence. “It addressed critical market needs for self production of design tags and stickers, and received strong adoption across design goods market. This achievement validated our R&D investment and strengthened our market position. Also our latest roll to roll digital finisher, DUOBLADE NX8 is equipped with third generation cutting heads, which controls vertical actuation digitally as well as X and Y direction. By this innovation, the cutter is now adjusting constant cutting depth for itself by periodic sensing with loadcell and cutting speed is increased 30 percent than before,” explains Juan Kim, CEO, Valloy Incorporated.

Xerox
Xerox’s defining achievement in 2025 was deepening its role as a workflow and production partner, not just a print technology provider. By empowering clients to automate, secure, and simplify complex print environments, Matt Raab, marketing director, offering portfolio, Xerox Corporation, says the company helps transform production from a process into a performance advantage.

“Our success was measured not in pages printed—but in efficiency gained, waste reduced, and value created for our clients,” concludes Raab.
